There must be something really hard about making those Blu-ray players that no one seems to have anticipated. First Sony had to announce twice that its BDP-S1 was going to be delayed until December 2006 due to software bugs.

YouTube Purges Comedy Central Clips

Hitting the financial jackpot, it appears, may have created some headaches for YouTube, the wildly popular video-sharing Web site that has agreed to be bought by Google for US$1.65 billion in stock. The site late last week began purging copyrighted material from Comedy Central, including clips from YouTube stalwarts like “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart,” “The Colbert Report” and “South Park.”

Finnish mobile device manufacturer Nokia is launching the Nokia 330 Auto Navigation, a car navigation device that includes Europe-wide maps. The Nokia 330 allows users to navigate across European borders, providing spoken and visual directions on a 3.5 inch color touch screen.

Microsoft Adds 85 Features to Xbox Live

In a move to one-up the competition during the peak season for video game console sales, Microsoft on Tuesday launched its fall Xbox Live Update complete with more than 85 new features. Microsoft is distributing the free update via Xbox Live to its Silver and Gold members. The initiative is meant to encourage nonmembers to sign up for the service.
